Frequently Asked Questions
We have two types of marquee, traditional (as shown above and on home page) and frame/ clearspan marquees.
The traditional marquees have pegs and guy ropes on the outside, with feature poles on the inside. The frame, or clearspan has a metal frame with no guy ropes, so is suitable for ground where space is limited, or where ground is harder and requires fewer pegs. What is included in the quote?
As a basis for weddings we include a lined
and floored marquee lit with chandeliers, with an entrance door
and window-walling where suitable. We have furniture in stock and
will include this with your initial estimate (generally including
any extra facilities that may be required, such as generators, service
marquees, loos) to give you an idea of the overall cost at this
stage.
What type of tables do you have?
All our recommendations come from the basis of a ‘good party’.
We have a variety of tables, tending to be ten people at the most
as we feel that this offers the best atmosphere, although we have
some larger to fit twelve people if numbers change at the last minute
to give you some flexibility. Our most popular tables are our 5’
round and 6’’ x 4’’ oval tables as they
are designed to be easy to talk across, so that meals are more social
and fun.
What should I look into before phoning?
If you are looking for more information on marquees we
are happy to help with any advice. We will discuss the party, number
of guests and the type of ground as this can determine the type
of marquee. At this stage we can pass on a rough idea of the cost
for a furnished marquee. We prefer, whenever possible to discuss
over the telephone in the first instance as we have a number of
questions about the site, access and general details. Our telephone

Why choose Inverhall Marquees?
We have been based in Scotland for
over twenty years, and have a good knowledge of sites around Scotland,
so are happy to help with any decisions or queries. We have a team of eight full-time staff (most of
whom have been with us for the last twenty years) and are very proud
of the work that they do. Being seasonal, we have regular summer
staff who join us for the busiest months of the year. As a lot of
our work involves repeat business, we make every effort for the
same people to return to each site. From material bought in we manufacture our own linings
and outer canvas, so we have a lot of flexibility in the sizes that
we can offer.
Public Events
All of our roofs, walls and lining have fire Retardancy Certificates
complying with BS 7837 standard of Flame Resistancy and have done
for the past 10 years.
Do we manufacture tarpaulins for boats?
We can manufacture tarpaulins, but because our stock materials are
above the specification that is generally required, the cover works
out heavier and more expensive. If anyone has any recommendations
for other companies, we will pass these on.
Can we supply carpets, stages and awning?
We are happy to provide a quote for carpeting (within marquee or
for corporate event in your building) or awning out-with the marquee
for corporate events or for cover in bad weather. We provide stages
for bands in our marquees where there are dances, or can provide
larger stages for different events such as book festivals.
